the mother of all breads

One of the perks of making morning deliveries of antikmodern stock to Albam's Spitalfields' store is being able to make the short walk across Commercial St to buy a fresh loaf from St John Bread & Wine. Their sourdough bread is especially good and I nearly always pick up a loaf to take back up the M40, along with the occasional bacon sandwich if I've skipped breakfast and can't wait until I get home

well made: Cabot & Sons socks

Family owned and run business Cabot & Sons have been making socks in the US since 1978. Designed to withstand the rigours of outdoor pursuits like rock climbing and skiing, their socks are manufactured using high density knitting machines to produce a knit with more stitches per inch for improved durability, warmth and cushioning. I've been wearing their Vermont Brand for the last few years now and they are without doubt the most comfortable and long lasting socks I've ever come across. Available via Runawaystore

the shop: Arne Jacobsen Hammer chair

Arne Jacobsen's Model 3103 chair was undoubtedly a design he invested significant time and effort on. Jacobsen worked with ergonomics experts to help create a chair with a sharper bend in the backrest and a superior seating position following criticism that his chairs lacked lumbar support. Although discontinued in the sixties I've been lucky enough to get hold of an original set of six which will be added to the site in the next few days. Other notable pieces coming to the shop shortly include a sculptural set of Johannes Andersen nesting tables, a Peter Lovig Nielsen mid size sofa table, more Krenit bowls in a range of colours and lots of great Scandinavian ceramics. For advanced details on any of these items or information on anything else drop me a mail by clicking here

Solair chair

Comfy, lightweight and relatively inexpensive the versatile Solair chair was a hugely popular choice with motels and outdoor pools across North America throughout the seventies. The plastic and steel chairs make a great option for outdoor seating and are available in range of bright colours perfect for summer - try Stardust or OK LA for stock
